Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with Ontario Green Book and Company policies.
- Conduct investigations into incidents, near misses, and environmental violations.
- Develop, deliver, and track EHS training programs for all employees.
- Maintain comprehensive EHS documentation including SDS, training records and inspection logs.
- Manage PDCA cycle of actions for the safety pillars such as Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space, machine guarding, chemical safety, contractor safety management, walking & working surfaces, working at heights, PPE and ergonomics.
- Coordinate emergency response planning and conduct drills.
- Prepare EHS performance reports and communicate key metrics to management.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives (Kaizen) from an EHS perspective.
- Development of safety-related standard operating procedures (SOPs), update SWIs (Standard Work Instructions) for JSI (Job Safety Analysis) sections, generate and maintain SPLs (Single Point Lesson), visual aids periodically.
- Identify root causes using tools such as 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagram or safety 4 blockers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate EHS into daily operations.
- Chair monthly BU JHSC (Joint Health and Safety Committee) meetings and maintain database.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational health & safety or equivalent.
Experience:
- Min. 5 years of EHS experience in a machinery manufacturing or heavy industrial environment (i.e. Machinery, Automotive, Aerospace, HVAC).
- Strong knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Act and regulations.
- Experience with EHS software or compliance tracking systems is desirable.
- Exposed to Lean Manufacturing, 6-Sigma, 8D tools.

- Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio.
- Self-motivated and organized with high attention to detail.
- Full Time on-site at the manufacturing facility.
- Frequent exposure to production areas.
- Must be able to wear PPE and conduct walkthroughs in operational zones.
